Why we built Assurentis Test Studio — the testing problem nobody talks about

By Founder, Assurentis Technologies

Every Oracle Fusion implementation story sounds the same in the sales deck — smooth go-live, happy client, everyone moves on. The reality, if you've actually sat inside these projects, looks different. Testing is where a huge amount of the real pain lives, and it's the part nobody really talks about outside the project team.

I spent years on the implementation side — leading Oracle Fusion Financials and SCM engagements across different clients, watching the same pattern repeat every single time. Teams build test scripts. Oracle ships a patch. Half the scripts break. Someone spends the next two weeks manually fixing things instead of testing anything new. Repeat, every quarter, forever.

What struck me wasn't that testing was hard — testing is supposed to be hard, that's the point. It's that the pain was almost entirely avoidable, and it kept happening because most tools treat test data as something you set up once and hope stays valid, instead of something that should be pulled live from the actual environment every time.

That's really the seed the whole product grew out of — building test cases around a deterministic data layer that pulls real, live Oracle referential data directly, so a patch that changes underlying data doesn't mean rebuilding your test cases from scratch. Separating business process logic from test data (what we call our TCO framework) so tests stay valid across environments and releases, instead of being locked to whatever the screen looked like on the day someone recorded it.

It's still early days for us — we're a young company, built by people who lived this problem firsthand rather than studying it from the outside. We don't have all the answers yet, and we're not trying to be everything to everyone. But if you've ever lost a week of your project timeline to a broken test script after a quarterly patch, that's exactly the problem we set out to solve.
